Top Tips For Slowing Down

   We understand that life can get busy. When it does, one of the first things you stop paying attention to is yourself. We've compiled a small list of our top tips for slowing down and living in the present.     

     Today's world can be a bit overwhelming, to say the least. When you've had a tough work week and you're looking to get a proper relaxing weekend, it's hard to know how to wind-down. Especially in a wellness-focused society, where you may feel guilt and pressure to do your best in every aspect of your life. Whether it be going vegan, getting your 10K steps in, or meditation, it's become impossible to feel like you're doing enough to take care of yourself. That's why we want to share an actionable guide for quick results. 

     Depression is living in the past, anxiety is living in the future, so let's live in the present, shall we?



Our top tips for feeling better at home:

    1. Focus on your breath

      We find that once you take a moment to breathe, you can notice your own negative thought loops. Once you notice them, you can begin to overcome them. Mindful breathing puts focus on your breath, and away from any negative thoughts. 25 minutes of mindful breathing actually improves brain function and energy levels.     2. Surround yourself with your favorite things

      We find that being around your favorite things helps get you back in the moment and appreciating what you have. That's why we're so passionate about creating luxury loungewear for the home. Draping yourself in natural fabrics is a wonderful way to instantly change your state of mind help to reach a state of peaceful happiness.

    3. Make a cup of tea

      An amazing way to slow down is having a hot cup of tea. It's a simple and wholesome way to relax and calm any nerves you may have. Making a cup of tea for your partner is one of the easiest ways to show you care about their current emotional state.

    4. Yoga in the evening

      We've listened to all the podcasts about morning routines, and honestly, it's exhausting just listening to them. One of the best ways to relax/ wind-down from your day is to stretch before bed. It's important to punctuate your day and give yourself a moment to acknowledged that the day has finished. There's been a lot of emphasis on starting your day right, but I actually think it's more effective to focus on finishing your day right. That way you'll automatically wake up on the right foot.
